PIXERA's user interface consists of five main areas:

1 - Tab Selection and Preferences Pane

2 - Selection Pane

3 - Workspace

4 - Inspector

5 - Timeline Pane

The interface is flexible. Panes can be resized as needed or detached and moved to other screens. For more information, check out Window Pane Management.

The Timeline is only available in the Compositing and Control tabs unless it has been detached.

1 - Tab Selection and Preferences Pane

On the top left of the interface you can find the four Tabs: Screens, Mapping, Compositing and Control, with the currently active mode highlighted in yellow. Clicking on one changes the tools and resources available to you in order to accomplish a certain part of the workflow. For more details, see:

In the top right corner of the User Interface are the controls: Turn Auto Save On/Off, Save Current Project, Open Existing Project and Settings.

Auto Save settings are found by clicking on the Settings Icon, Project and twirling down the Auto Save section.

2 - Selection Pane

The selection pane, in all four Tabs, is generally where resources are kept. There is a Change Layout button always present in the bottom right corner which allows for Window Pane Management. There's often a search field available at the top of many of the tabs in the different modes.

The central part of the GUI is the Workspace, where you can interact with various aspects of your project. In the Screens, Mapping and compositing tabs, it represents the 3D scenery of the project including all screens, LED screens, projectors and 3D objects (which could be projection surfaces or stage props). It is also where Inner Compositing can be performed via the ‘Dive into current screen’ button. The content placed and composed on any surface will be rendered in real-time in the Workspace.

In certain parts of the software like warping, have a button at the top of the inspector to move those controls into the workspace, allowing for easier control.

In the Control Tab, this is where you will choose, arrange and connect the modules you need for your show control setup.

Please see the following articles for more detail on using the Workspace:

4 - Inspector

The inspector field shows the properties for the object you have selected. Seen here while clicking between a display and a projection screen, the available fields controls and sub-tabs vary hugely during a workflow.

5 - Timeline

The Timeline is the interface for arranging and sequencing content and designing your show. Here you will interact with all the timelines you've created in the Selection Pane. There are a number of tools available, as well as a Change Layout button on the top right, where you can detach the timeline and move it to another monitor. For more detail, please read Timeline Overview.
