SendArguments

SendArguments collects a configurable number of input values and sends the stored values as positional arguments from a single output action.

Usage

Use SendArguments when an action requires several arguments, but the values need to be supplied through separate Control inputs. Each generated input action stores its latest value. The module then forwards all stored values together, either whenever an input changes or when send is triggered manually.

Inputs can contain numbers, strings, Boolean values. Inputs without a stored value are not included in the outgoing argument list.

Setup

  1. Set Inputs to the number of input actions required by the receiving action.
  2. Select Create Inputs. The module performs a dynamic rebuild and creates the actions in1 through inN, where N is the configured number of inputs.
  3. Connect or assign a value to each generated input action. The input number determines the argument position; for example, in1 supplies the first argument and in2 supplies the second.
  4. Connect the right output of output to the action that should receive the collected arguments.
  5. Enable Execute On Input Change to send the argument list whenever any generated input receives a value. Leave it disabled to send only when send is triggered.
  6. Trigger reset to clear all stored input values when required.

Configure the number of inputs during setup. Selecting Create Inputs performs a dynamic rebuild and causes a PIXERA Core Reload, which can interrupt an active setup.

When entering literal values, enter numbers without quotation marks, strings in quotation marks, and Boolean values as true or false.

Features

  • Generates a configurable number of input actions.
  • Preserves the input order when forwarding positional arguments.
  • Supports all PIXERA Control value types accepted by the receiving action.
  • Stores the most recent value received by each generated input.
  • Sends automatically when an input changes or manually through send.
  • Does not include inputs that do not currently contain a stored value.
  • Clears all stored input values through reset.
  • Provides ref for forwarding calls through module references.

Actions

Action Info Input Output
reload Internal action used by Create Inputs to rebuild the generated input actions. - -
ref Returns a reference to the SendArguments module instance. - result (ref)
output Sends all stored, non-nil input values as positional arguments through its right node connection. - Stored arguments
executeOnInputChange Internal action that applies the Execute On Input Change property. - -
send Manually triggers output. Use this when Execute On Input Change is disabled. - -
reset Clears the values stored by all generated input actions. - -
in1 ... inN Generated attribute actions that store values in argument order. The number of actions is defined by Inputs. val (any) Stored value (attribute)
